My name is Morgan Jerkins and I'm a writer based in Harlem. I have a Bachelor's in Comparative Literature, specializing in late nineteenth century Russian literature and post-war Japanese literature, and an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars.
Besides being a former Associate Editor at Catapult, I am an incoming professor at Columbia University’s MFA Nonfiction program. My short form work on race, gender, and culture has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, ELLE, The New Republic, and The Atlantic, among many others.
I am the author of the New York Times bestselling book, THIS WILL BE MY UNDOING. My next two projects, WHY WE GET OUT and CAUL BABY, are forthcoming from Harper Books.
