My name is Morgan Jerkins and I’m the author of four books, This Will Be My Undoing, which was a New York Times bestseller, Wandering in Strange Lands, Caul Baby, and Zeal. Over the course of several years, I’ve written a ton on the internet, intersecting social issues and popular media through celebrity profiles and interviews, reportage, commentary, and personal essays. I currently in the Creative Writing department teach at Princeton University where I also hold a Bachelor’s in Comparative Literature. Previously, I taught at Columbia, Pacific University, The New School, and Leipzig University, where I was their Guest Picador Professor. In addition, I’m a filmmaker! My debut short film, Black Madonna, which I wrote and co-directed, was selected at the Big Apple Film Festival, Pan African Film & Arts Festival, and NewFilmmakers Los Angeles.
